At ACE dance and music, we are a national and international touring dance company based in Birmingham, UK. Founded in 1996, we are one of the most highly regarded, eclectic, and resilient dance companies in the UK. Our mission is to promote the power of dance through cultural exchange, and our vision is to become a national centre for promoting, producing, and presenting outstanding contemporary dance inspired by the African Diaspora.

Our Story

ACE dance and music was established 24 years ago as an agent for cultural exchange. We are rooted in the values and inspiration of African and Caribbean tradition, but seen through a contemporary lens. Our signature style is a fusion of traditional Afro-fusion forms with contemporary techniques, creating high-quality innovative performances. We have nurtured relationships with a network of international artistic associates, and we aim to promote the generosity and openness of collaboration and cultural exchange using shared choreographic methods and new technologies.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services, including dance classes, schools and colleges programs, professional and community classes, productions, studio projects, and more. Our dance classes are designed to get your children active, spark their creativity, and build confidence. Our schools and colleges programs are tailored to provide young people with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the arts. Studio Hire

Our studio space, ACE Space, is located in the heart of Birmingham's creative quarter. The studio is available for hire and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Whether you're looking to host a dance class, rehearsal, or event, ACE Space is the perfect venue.

Projects

We run a number of innovative projects each year, including dance productions, community outreach programs, and education initiatives. Our productions are designed to showcase the best of contemporary African and Caribbean dance, and our community outreach programs are designed to promote cultural exchange and bring people together.

Learning

We believe that nurturing the next generation is central to what we do. We run ACE Youth, a program designed to provide young people with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the arts. Our 10-year vision is to build strong development pathways for emerging dancers, with a clear progression from pre-school to successful careers working at the highest industry standard.
