L'areeva Dance Academy, based in Selly Oak, Birmingham, UK, offers a diverse range of dance classes for boys and girls aged 3 to 16 years. Our extensive selection includes Classical Ballet, Commercial Street Dance, Acrobatics, Singing Musical Theatre, and many more. We are proud to offer opportunities for IDTA international recognised syllabus dance exams, stage performances, and competitions. Our mission is to provide a fun hobby that can also lead and equip pupils towards a successful career in the world of TV, dance, and performing arts entertainment industry. Principals and Classes
L'areeva Dance Academy was established 9 years ago by Principals Sherene Flash and Sarah Mahon. With their combined skills and professional experience, they are dedicated to providing the best possible technique, training, and education to all pupils. We offer IDTA (International Dance Teachers' Association) grade syllabus classes, and we have achieved a 100% examination pass rate throughout the years. Entering grade syllabus dance examinations helps increase understanding, improve levels of progression, and contribute towards university points.
We provide classes for various dance genres, including:
- Twirly Tots (3 - 4years) - An introduction to Ballet, Tap, Acro, and Modern Jazz.
- Ballet (Classical Ballet) - A foundational style of expressive movement that offers discipline, technique, elegance, and grace.
- Tap - A gentle and rhythmical way to keep fit, focusing on coordination, syncopation, musicality, and timing.
- Modern Jazz - An energetic and fun dance style, offering an opportunity to react and interact with others through elaborate footwork,
- powerful leaps, rapid turns, and imaginative improvisation.
- Commercial Street Dance - A constantly evolving style of dance, covering many genres of dance styles and music.
- Acrobatics - A fun and popular class focusing on gymnastic-based tricks, acrobatic movement, lifts, poses, flexibility, balance, strength, coordination, and stretching.
- Lyrical Contemporary - An expressive dance style combining elements of several dance genres, encouraging expression of feeling through music and dance for creative freedom.
- Singing/Musical Theatre - Vocal lessons developing technique in Classical, Musical Theatre, Folk, and Pop.
Exam Dates, Performance Opportunities, and Uniforms
L'areeva Dance Academy maintains a strong focus on continuous improvement and performance opportunities. We organize annual examinations, typically held in November, and have achieved a distinguished track record with all pupils receiving high honours.
- July 2021 - All passed with Distinction.
- June 2022 - All passed with Distinction.

We provide stage opportunities to gain performance experience, develop self-confidence, and create lasting memories. Our classes are held at the Friends Meeting House, and all required uniforms and clothing are available for purchase via our online store.
