At Making Waves, we are passionate about teaching children and adults to swim in a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable environment. Our state-of-the-art swimming facility at Playsport in East Kilbride is designed to provide the perfect setting for our students to learn and thrive. With a focus on progressive and structured lessons, our experienced and dedicated teachers provide one-to-one attention to each student, helping them to develop their swimming skills and build confidence in the water.

Our Story

Making Waves was born out of a desire to create a facility that matched our exceptional service. For 16 years, we operated from health clubs and school pools that often fell short in terms of cleanliness and reliability. We set out to create a facility that was sparkling clean, warm, and welcoming, with plenty of amenities to make our students and their families feel comfortable and supported. From the design of the pool to the installation of energy and water-saving devices, every detail has been carefully considered to create the perfect environment for learning to swim.

Our Services

We offer a range of swimming lessons for babies, children, and adults, each tailored to meet the individual needs and abilities of our students. From baby swimming classes designed for little ones from 6 months to 3 years old, to individual or group tuition for adults, we have a programme to suit everyone. Our classes are progressive and structured, and our teachers are in the water with our students, providing one-to-one attention and guidance every step of the way.

Our lessons are designed to be fun and engaging, while also focusing on the development of essential swimming skills and techniques. We don't use armbands, instead, we encourage our students to swim unaided as early as possible, building confidence and independence in the water. With small class sizes and a focus on individual attention, we are dedicated to helping our students become confident and competent swimmers.

Our Facilities

Our exclusive, purpose-built swimming facility at Playsport in East Kilbride is a testament to our commitment to providing the best possible environment for our students. Our advanced filtration system minimises the amount of chlorine needed, ensuring that the water is clear, clean, and gentle on skin and hair. We have also installed energy and water-saving devices to keep our facility as energy efficient as possible. And, after a swim, our students and their families can relax and unwind in our comfortable cafe, enjoying a wide range of delicious hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches, and snacks.
