Your partners in success - empowering you to achieve your goals

Polly Renwick Counselling is a professional practice run by BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Counselling Supervisor, Polly Renwick. With a B.Ed and a peaceful, secluded practice in Pentewan near St Austell, Polly offers a safe and accepting environment for individual, couple, or small group work.

Polly was born and raised in Cornwall and has a deep love and understanding of the county's heritage and complexities. After college, she moved out of the area to train and work as a teacher in Southampton, where she gained valuable experience in multicultural living and the wealth of difference that a sea-port town has to offer. Upon her return to Cornwall, Polly retrained in Counselling/Psychotherapy and has since worked for local charities, private practice with self-referring clients, the NHS, Student Services on the University Campus, and for National Employee Assistance Programmes.

At Polly Renwick Counselling, we offer a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. We believe that counselling and psychotherapy are interchangeable and describe differing levels of psychological process. We work towards positive outcomes by encouraging clients to identify changes they would like to effect in their lives before the first session. This allows us to contract towards a positive outcome at the appropriate level.

Our Services

Polly Renwick Counselling provides a range of services, including:

  • Counselling and Psychotherapy: We offer individual, couple, or small group work from our peaceful, secluded practice. Our therapy is based on the Person-Centred Approach, which covers the vast range of ups and downs of human experience, dealing with the "whole person" within the context of life's challenges and relationships.
  • Practice Supervision Service: Polly offers supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists to support and enhance their clinical expertise and professional development.
  • On-Site Critical Incident Psychological Support and Trauma Counselling: We provide immediate support to individuals or groups who have been involved in a critical incident, such as a major accident, natural disaster, or traumatic event.

We offer counselling support to young people with a parent or sibling in prison and work with clients who have a loved one gone missing.
