Empowering you to live your life in a more productive way

At some point in their lives, many people experience feelings of anxiety, depression, fear of failure, or the stress of everyday living. This can be caused by relationship issues, work commitments, loss, or traumatic events. At times like this, it can be difficult to talk to friends and family. Counselling is about sharing these problems with a professional therapist who, by being impartial, can help you understand what may be happening and why you react the way you do in certain situations.

As a counsellor, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship so you feel safe to explore what is concerning you. I offer a supportive environment to help you feel accepted and understood without feeling judged or criticised. I am accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their code of ethics. I offer absolute confidentiality to help you explore the problems that are overwhelming you. I aim to provide you with insight and empower you to live your life in a more productive way.

About Christine Yarrow

I have been practising as a therapist for over twenty years and have a wealth of experience working in my private practice, in primary care, and employment-assisted programmes. I use the Integrative approach, which means that I draw on a variety of techniques and approaches in order to best meet the unique needs of each client. I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy if required. I work with individuals, couples, organisations, and students. As it is important to work at the pace of each individual client, I offer long and short-term therapy as required. Appointments are available during the day and some early evenings.

Counselling Services

My experience covers most areas of counselling, and includes: Anxiety, Depression including post-natal Stress, Relationship issues, Childhood abuse (both female and male), Bereavement and loss, Low self-esteem, Traumatic effects, and Work-related issues. My fee is 45 per one-hour session. I offer a concessionary rate if you are a student, are on a low income or are unemployed.

Qualifications and Experience

I hold a B.A. (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy (1st Class), Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Diploma in Stress Management Training, and am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, UKRCP Registered. I also hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Studies: Supervision, Trauma Informed Therapist and Supervisor.
