Relate NI is a reputable and esteemed charity that has been dedicated to providing expert relationship support for individuals and couples across Northern Ireland for over 75 years. We are the largest relationship support provider in the region, having assisted a remarkable 36026 people of all ages, backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities during the 2022/23 period. Our goal is to make expert relationship support accessible to all, by offering a range of services that cater to the unique needs of every individual and couple.

Our Services

At Relate NI, we offer a diverse range of services designed to help individuals and couples strengthen their relationships. Our services are tailored to meet the needs of all, regardless of their relationship status, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Here is an overview of the services we provide:

*Adult Relationship Counselling for Couples:* Our expert counsellors work with couples to identify and address the underlying issues that are causing tension and conflict in their relationship. Our counsellors provide a safe and non-judgmental space for couples to express themselves and work towards a stronger, healthier relationship.

*Adult Relationship Counselling for Individuals:* We offer individual counselling for those who may be experiencing difficulties in their personal relationships or who may be struggling with personal issues that are affecting their relationships. Our counsellors provide a supportive and empathetic space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and work towards a healthier and happier life.

*Family Counselling:* Our family counselling services are designed to help families navigate difficult situations and strengthen their relationships. We work with families to identify and address the underlying issues that are causing tension and conflict, and provide strategies and tools to help families communicate effectively and build stronger bonds.

*Sustaining Healthy Relationships:* This programme is designed to provide individuals and couples with the skills and knowledge they need to sustain healthy relationships over time. Our expert counsellors work with participants to identify and address the underlying issues that may be causing tension and conflict, and provide practical strategies and tools to help them build and maintain healthy relationships.

*Relate NI Kids Counselling:* We offer specialised counselling services for children aged 5-12 who may be experiencing difficulties in their personal relationships or who may have been affected by family breakdown or other challenging situations. Our counsellors provide a safe and supportive space for children to express themselves and work towards a happier and healthier life.

*Relate NI Teen Counselling:* Our counselling services for teens aged 13-18 are designed to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence and build healthy relationships. Our expert counsellors work with teens to identify and address the underlying issues that may be causing tension and conflict in their personal relationships, and provide practical strategies and tools to help them build and maintain healthy relationships.

*Relateable. A Relationships & Sexuality Education Programme for 15-16 Year Olds:* This programme is designed to provide young people with the knowledge and skills they need to build healthy and fulfilling relationships. Our expert counsellors work with students to address the challenges and issues they may face in their personal relationships and provide practical strategies and tools to help them build and maintain healthy relationships.

*Sex Therapy:* Our sex therapy services are designed to help individuals and couples address any sexual issues they may be experiencing. Our expert counsellors provide a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore their sexual experiences and work towards a healthier and happier life.

Our Impact

During the 2022/23 period, we directly helped 36026 people, and a further 3474 indirectly benefitted from our services. Our counselling services have been rated as 'good' or 'excellent' by 86% of people, highlighting the effectiveness of our approach. Relate NI is a charity with a mission to make expert relationship support available for everyone. We have been supporting people and their relationships across Northern Ireland for 75 years, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals, couples, and families in the region. We provide our professional counselling services at locations across NI, including Belfast, Foyle, Newry, Coleraine, Ballymena, and Omagh. We can also offer our counselling services through webcam and telephone, ensuring that our expert support is accessible to all.
