Creating unforgettable memories, one meal at a time.

The Leicester Counselling Centre is a charitable organisation founded in 1981 to provide affordable, long-term, counselling to adults who are experiencing mental health, social and emotional distress that disrupts their daily living. Our service reaches individuals across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, making us one of the largest general counselling providers in Leicestershire.

Our mission is to provide a comfortable and confidential environment where individuals can explore their difficulties and work towards a clearer understanding of themselves and their needs. We achieve this through our team of dedicated volunteer counsellors who offer a non-judgemental space for our clients to discuss their issues.

Our Services

The Leicester Counselling Centre offers long-term counselling, which provides an opportunity to meet with a counsellor at the same day and time each week for up to one year. This allows our clients to work at depth on their issues within a safe and confidential environment. Our counselling service is tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients, and we endeavour to provide a supportive and non-judgemental space for them to explore their difficulties.

Our team of experienced assessors are also available to help clients decide whether our counselling service is suitable for them. We understand that making contact can be a big step, and our assessors are happy to answer any initial questions and provide guidance on the counselling process.

We also provide easy and convenient ways for individuals to make a referral, either through self-referral or with the help of a healthcare professional. We ensure that our referral process is straightforward and hassle-free, allowing our clients to access our services as quickly as possible.

Our Impact

At The Leicester Counselling Centre, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our clients. We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality counselling services, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our charitable status enables us to provide affordable counselling to those who need it most, and we are proud to be part of the local community.

Our organisation is an organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and we abide by their Standards of Practice and Ethical Framework. This ensures that our clients receive the highest level of care and support throughout their counselling journey.

Negative: The reviews also highlight concerns about the availability of services, with some individuals struggling to access the support they needed.

Unforgettable Experience with Counselling Services

The reviews presented here are a mix of dissatisfying and life-changing experiences with counselling services. The tone of the reviews is largely negative, with only a few positive comments scattered throughout.

Struggles and Disappointment

It appears that not all services provided were satisfactory. Emily C. shares her distressing encounter, where she was denied help due to being deemed "too severe" for their services. Gary Crisp, too, found that counselling didn't help him overcome his emotional scars, and his problems persisted. These individuals' experiences highlight the importance of effective support for individuals struggling with mental health issues.

Positive Feedback

On the other hand, there are some testimonials that showcase the positive impact of counselling services. Kieran Murray, Sally Warden, and Savage Snayle all express their gratitude for the help they received, with some even crediting the services for transforming their lives.

Criticisms and Concerns

Waiting lists were a concern for one reviewer, with Savage Snayle noting that the long wait was worth it for the excellent service they received. Communicative and non-patronising professionals seem to be a priority for clients, with Savage Snayle highlighting the practitioner's ability to explain their process in everyday English.
