At The Dove Service, we have been providing bereavement and loss counselling services to individuals and families across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire since 1984. Founded by Dr. Linda Machin, a leading research fellow, our organization is dedicated to supporting people of all ages who have experienced bereavement, significant loss, or life-changing illness.

Our vision is to enable people who are experiencing bereavement, life-changing illness, or significant loss to receive the highest quality of care and support to understand their grief and cope with their loss. Our mission is to deliver this vision by providing counselling and group support activities to anyone who is or could be affected by bereavement, life-changing illness, or other significant loss.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to support individuals and families through the grieving process. Our adult services include adult counselling, bereavement groups, and Dove Buddies social groups. We also provide services tailored to children and young people, as well as support for parents and professionals. Additionally, our employee wellbeing services focus on promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of employees to enhance organizational success.
Our Team
Our team of experienced counsellors, mentors, and administrators work together to provide high-quality support to our clients. We believe in investing in the development of the counselling profession and take on a small number of placement counsellors every year. Each of our placement counsellors is matched with a more experienced mentor from within our counselling team.
