At LASC Childcare Services, we are a voluntary organisation with Scottish charity status, dedicated to providing high-quality childcare services to families in Loanhead, Roslin, Rosewell, and Bilston. Our board is comprised of local parents and residents who are passionate about creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children to thrive.
Our History
We opened our doors in Loanhead in October 1995, when a group of parents on the Parents Council of the local school identified a need for an out-of-school care service. Since then, we have expanded to include six children's services registered with the Care Inspectorate, along with a Community Centre and Additional Support Needs Young Adults Service, supporting over 600 families 50 weeks of the year.
Our Ethos
Our ethos is to promote fair play, inclusion, and respect, along with play that challenges the children while still providing a playful environment. We strive to create a sense of belonging among our children, parents, and carers, and to provide a service that is built on trust, empathy, and understanding.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of families in our community. Our Nursery services cater to children from 3 months to preschool age, providing a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters learning and development. Our Out of School Care services include After School Clubs, Holiday Clubs, and Saturday Clubs, all designed to provide a fun and safe space for children to learn, play, and socialise. We also offer Young Adult and Additional Support Needs Services, providing holiday care and respite services for children and young people aged 5-25 years.
Our Community
At LASC, we believe in the importance of building strong relationships with our community. Our Community Centre and charity shop provide a welcoming space for parents, carers, and children to socialise, relax, and access valuable resources and support. We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes social cohesion.
