At Reflections, we do things a little differently. We're proud to offer exceptional early years care and education inspired by the Forest School and Reggio Emilia ethos. Our approach emphasises self-discovery, child-centred development, and the natural world. We believe that children are capable, curious, and imaginative individuals who learn best through play, exploration, and first-hand experiences.

Our nursery is set in two stunning buildings, a Regency building and a gothic Tudor-style building, both with loads of space, light, and huge gardens. We have created an inspiring environment for children, filled with open-ended, natural, and reclaimed resources that encourage creativity and imagination.

We invite you to visit us and experience the Reflections difference.

About Us

We draw our inspiration from the pre-schools of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, renowned for providing children with the very best in childcare and education. Our curriculum is also influenced by the forest nurseries of Denmark, famous for their outstanding outdoor work with young children. We work with the Early Years Foundation Stage, the national guidance for working with children from birth to five.

At Reflections, we prioritise children's voices and give them the time and opportunity to develop as creative, competent learners in an inspiring environment with lots of access to the outdoors. Our vision is to create a place that values caring, respectful relationships and makes heard the voice of the child.

Our Team

Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about early years education. Our principal, Jo Allen, has many years of experience leading nurseries and is committed to delivering the very best childcare and education. Libby Nicholas, Managing Director of Dukes Education, provides leadership and strategic direction. Rachel Martini, Senior Head of Nursery, is our Nominated Safeguarding Governor, and Becca Bakter, Head of Nursery, is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. Our team is dedicated to providing the best possible care for every child.

We have a fantastic team of early years educators who are dedicated to listening to children's ideas, encouraging creativity, and supporting development. We believe that by listening to children and providing opportunities for them to test their hypotheses, we can help them learn and grow.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to develop children across as many areas of learning as possible. We prioritise listening to children and giving them the time and opportunity to develop as creative, competent learners. We believe that creativity is as important as literacy and mathematics, and we make sure that children have plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and imagine.

Our curriculum is influenced by the principles of Reggio Emilia and the Forest School. We believe that children learn best through first-hand experiences, exploration, and play. We aim to provide children with the opportunity to develop their communication, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual skills through a range of activities, both indoors and outdoors.

Our Environment

Our environment is designed to inspire children and encourage curiosity. We have two beautiful buildings, both with loads of space, light, and huge gardens. We have created an inspiring environment filled with open-ended, natural, and reclaimed resources that encourage creativity and imagination.

Our Forest School provides children with opportunities to learn and develop in a woodland setting. We believe that the outdoors is especially important to children's learning and development, and we aim to provide children with plenty of opportunities to explore, play and learn in a natural environment.

Our Commitment

At Reflections, we are committed to providing the very best childcare and education. We strive to provide a bespoke and individualised early education for the children in our care. We believe that every child is unique, and we aim to provide an environment that recognises and supports their individual strengths and interests.

We are truly at the heart of our local community and are committed to supporting families throughout Worthing and beyond.
