At Discovery Day Nursery, we are a friendly and welcoming nursery situated in the heart of Worthing, West Sussex. Our nursery is close to Victoria Park, Worthing Library, Worthing Museum, the town centre, and the beach, offering children a variety of areas for discovery and exploration.

Our Approach to Education

We follow and incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in our everyday practice, ensuring that our children are developing and growing as young individuals in our care. Our experienced and qualified staff are committed to delivering outstanding care and education, providing a range of experiences to promote language development, reading, writing, and numeracy skills. We encourage children to take the opportunity to make new friends, learn social and educational skills, and develop their own interests and passions.

Outdoors Play

Being immersed in the outdoors is essential for children's development, and we centre our outdoor planning around our curriculum priorities. Our nursery is designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment that fosters creativity, imagination, and exploration. Children are encouraged to take risks, try new things, and develop their problem-solving skills in our outdoor playground and sensory garden.

Our nursery manager, Megan, has over 10 years of experience in childcare and is dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the love, attention, and care they deserve.

Each member of our team is committed to creating a nurturing environment that is warm, welcoming, and stimulating. We believe that strong relationships between children, staff, and parents are essential in promoting a sense of belonging and supporting children's learning and development.

Awards and Funding

We offer both the funded 15 and 30 hours free childcare each week for 3 and 4 year olds under the Free Early Education Entitlement Funding (FEEE) government scheme. This is also available for eligible 2 year olds. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously by using bio-degradable disposable nappies and aim to teach our children about recycling and looking after our planet for future generations.
