Parashakti Yoga was established in 2015 by Srina Patel, a Yoga Alliance registered instructor based in Colchester and Tendring. Meaning 'highest energy' in Sanskrit, Parashakti yoga aims to provide the local community with energizing classes in traditional hatha yoga. Our mission is to help individuals cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the ancient science of yoga.
Our Story
Srina completed her teacher training course with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in London, part of the international Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. The Sivananda centres were first established in 1959 by Swami Vishnudevananda, devoted disciple of one of the great spiritual masters of the 20th century, Swami Sivananda. The Sivananda yoga centres have been instrumental in spreading the joy of yoga internationally to countless people over the years. Srina offers independent traditional yoga classes, influenced by the teachings and spirit of the Sivananda lineage.
Our Services
At Parashakti Yoga, we offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking to improve their overall health and well-being. Our services include traditional hatha yoga classes, private individual and group sessions, and free trial classes for new joiners. Our classes place emphasis on breathing techniques (pranayama), the 12 basic physical postures (asanas), and proper relaxation. Our goal is to help individuals discover how yoga can help them achieve their health and wellness goals, whether it is to improve strength and flexibility, increase energy levels, connect spiritually, or simply have fun and try something new.
About Our Instructor
Srina, our founder and instructor, began learning yoga in 2010 as a means to cure insomnia. She soon discovered that yoga was much more than just a form of exercise; it was a way of living that brought balance, harmony, and spiritual growth. Inspired by her own journey, Srina became a yoga teacher to guide others in discovering the benefits of yoga. With a teaching style influenced by the Sivananda lineage, Srina creates a supportive and nurturing environment for students to explore their practice.
