A Full Circle Approach to Movement, Health, and Fitness
Welcome to akarmalife Studios, a unique and holistic approach to movement, health, and fitness. Our journey began over two decades ago, when our founder Stuart McCabe discovered his passion for movement during his middle school years as a county gymnast. This passion continued to grow when he started attending a local gym at 15 years old. Through his experiences, Stuart developed a deep understanding of the importance of movement in our daily lives. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury in 1993 led to a turning point in his life, forcing him to re-evaluate his relationship with movement.
As a lifelong learner, Stuart continued to study the human body and its capacity to heal, exploring various disciplines such as martial arts, yoga, strength conditioning, personal training, nutrition, injury rehab, intrinsic biomechanics, and manual and soft tissue therapy. His fascination with the human body led him to delve deeper into anatomy, body dissection, pain science, Pilates, meditation, and gait analysis.
Fast forward to 1999, Stuart started teaching movement classes, and by 2012, his partner Olena Baker joined as a teacher, bringing her expertise in yoga, natural movement, corrective exercises, and meditation. Over the years, Olena's involvement with the business grew, and today she is a senior teacher and therapist, dedicated to sharing her knowledge and skills with our community.

Our studios offer a diverse range of classes, workshops, and events, including introductory courses, studio classes, and therapies. Our Strength & Rehab Centre provides a unique space for strength and body conditioning, as well as injury rehabilitation.
